Most people (99 out of 100? 999 out of 1000?) would have walked by this sad-looking city bike without a second look.
Not us, though.
Surprise! It’s a Pinarello Pista.

This one:
Well, Bradley Wiggins bought it!
“I don’t know if you saw Indurain’s team Banesto bike, there was a thing about it a couple weeks ago on the internet. I ended up buying it. It’s one of his time trial bikes from 1992, he won a stage of the Tour de Romandie on it.
“The seller wanted $75,000 for it on eBay. I didn’t pay that, I contacted him directly and asked him straight up, ‘How much do you really want for it?’ I had a chat with him. He didn’t even want that much for it, but he put that price on because he didn’t want to get underdone for it.
“I’m not telling you how much I paid for it. Less than 75,000, oh f*** yeah! A lot less!”
He’s got plenty more, too.
Rest here:
Interesting.

Pinarello Super Record Special 1975
Hi there. For sale is this beautiful, rare, 1975 Pinarello Super Special, made from Columbus SL tubings and equipped with full Campagnolo Super Record components, 6 friction speeds.
I’ve just opened it up, cleaned, lubricated and tuned. All components are in a very good condition optically and functionally. Hubs bearings, headset bearings and bottom bracket bearings are very smooth. The wheels are just laced and trued with Sapim stainless steel spokes, hand polished Nissi Moncalieri tubular rims and Campagnolo 1975 Super Record hubs with new Weldtite bearings and ceramic Weldtite grease.
The frame has a beautiful filigree lugwork. Rare early original Pinarello decor. GPT letters at chromed seat stay eyelets. Chromed Campagnolo Super Record drop outs.
Original paint is in very good condition with minor scratches. You can judge the actual condition in the hi res pictures. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Update, 16 June 2015:
And here’s yet another one, this one with a low, low opening bid of $250 and no reserve:
Excellent Condition
Campagnolo Pinarello Columbus CroMor
Time Trial Bicycle
This is a late 80’s model Pinarello with the curved time trial 54cm frame. It is setup with Shimano components. The model number for the brakes, front and rear derailleur, crankset, hubs, and shifter are all Shimano 105. The handbars are Scott. The stem is Cinelli Tempo. It is in excellent condition and shifts perfectly. The tires are tubeless and still hold air but would need to be replaced for serious use. There are no pedals. They were removed and sold separately.

We have little use for the unicrown fork, but this is otherwise a neat bike (even if we find the decision to convert this particular frame to single-speed a little curious).
This is an original Pinarello Stelvio steel frame made with a very exclusive Dedacciai Kens tubeset (oversize, extremely light), internal cabling. Original red paint and white deals…excellent condition throughout. No rust whatsoever, bright and perfect chrome, engraved and windowed lugs and dropouts, engraved brake bridge/bottom bracket shell/dropouts/front derailleur hanger.
Set up as a single-speed for show (or ride) with Campagnolo C-Record Delta brake calipers, C-Record platform pedals and toe-clips, Alfredo Binda leather toe-straps, Campagnolo Chorus 9/10/11-speed wheelset (Mavic rims), Gusset single-speed cog and spacers, Campagnolo Arhena crank, Campagnolo Bottom bracket, Campagnolo Chorus threaded headset and seatpost, Cinelli bars/stem, Selle Italia Flite Evolution full carbon saddle, etc.
This is a very unique and special build.
Everything is in excellent show condition. Brake hoods are perfect, pedal dust-covers are original and excellent, headset wrench flats are not rounded/worn, chain is not stretched, wheels are true and round, frame is straight (verified on the frame table at Ted Wojick’s shop), threads are perfect.
Frame was sourced from Holland and will be sold with original paperwork (paid for in Dutch Guilders).
Size 52. 52.5 top tube, 52 seattube center-to-center (53 seattube center-to-top)
Its namesake (again, makes the conversion all the more curious as gears would surely come in handy on this ribbon of tarmac):

Very Rare Colnago Esamexico Pista Track size 50×53 center to center, used but in very good conditions. Some scuffs and missed points of paint, but No rust and No dents. The frame is made using the famous Columbus tubes. The groupset is a complete Campagnolo C-Record Pista in very good conditions and fully operational, with Campagnolo C-Record Sheriff Hubs (check the listing pictures).

If you know Colnago track bikes you know that it is very easy to find a Colnago Super in small size. But it is almost impossible to find an Esamexico in this size because it was a high range model and all the pistard are high!!!
